Dr. Lowell Gill, MD

Dr. Lowell Gill, MD

Dr. Gill has served in leadership positions for a number of Orthopaedic Societies including being past President of the Southern Orthopaedic Association, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the Orthopaedic Foot Club. He also has served on the boards of the Eastern Orthopaedic Association and North Carolina Orthopaedic Association. He has also held positions for a number of additional professional associations such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Research Education Foundation, and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons where he served as a board examiner for a number of years. As an invited guest lecturer he has made more than one hundred orthopaedic presentations throughout the United States as well as in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Dr. Gill has also authored numerous publications and served as a reviewer for multiple orthopaedic journals helping to improve the scientific validity of other author’s publications. In addition, he has volunteered his services for the Special Olympics.

Dr. Gill obtained his medical degree, M.D. from Duke University Medical School and stayed at Duke for his surgical internship. His specialty training was completed at University of California, San Francisco where he trained at one of our country’s busiest and top medical centers for total joint replacements. Dr. Gill also trained with two of our country’s most distinguished and experienced orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeons. He has continued this same emphasis throughout his entire practice.

Kimberly Ziefel, PA

Kimberly is originally from Pennsylvania where she attended Pennsylvania State University for her undergraduate degree in Biobehavioral Health. She continued her education at Slippery Rock University for her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Kimberly came down to North Carolina to escape the Pennsylvania winters to start her career in  medicine. She enjoys the diversity of conditions seen in Physical Medicine on a regular basis, but in particular she enjoys orthopedic conditions, and injury care. In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys hiking, running and traveling with her husband and pets.
